Biodegradable
Water Sachets!
|
|
Together with
the Friends of Zeekoevlei and Rondevlei, Green Home has
pioneered another ingenious invention….. biodegradable water
sachets for runners! At this year’s Zeekoevlei Hip-athon
and Eco-festival those little plastic
sachets that inevitably get blown away along the road during
sporting events will be replaced with ones made from plant
starches which biodegrade into water, CO2 and compost.

Fake
biodegradables are giving real biodegradable a bad name
|
|
We’ve been
closely following the controversy around chemo-degradable
plastics. Chemical additives are added to petroleum based
plastics to make them degrade faster i.e. to break down into
little pieces of plastic, making it chemo-degradable, not
biodegradable. Big difference. To be sure, Green Home issues
these stickers below with all of our bioplastic bags. Read more
here. |
