SunChips, the world first 100% compostable chip packaging have been re-launched in ‘quieter’ compostable packaging. SunChips first compostable packaging attempt was pulled off the shelves last year after complaints that the packaging was too loud. Find out more from Times Newsfeed.
Videos of the Month: Plastic Trash in Oceans Enters Marine Food Chain
We’ve featured a few videos already about the global plastic pollution crisis of our oceans, but this recent clip from the 5 Gyres Institute who have been touring the world studying plastic pollution and its effects on marine animals (and consequently humans) explains the issues well. The 5 Gyres vessel, the Sea Dragon, and its crew recently docked in Cape Town before continuing onto Uruguay for the first ever trans-Atlantic Ocean plastic-pollution research trip in the Southern Hemisphere. Alternative to Plastic: Traditional Leaf bowls
The state wide plastic bag ban in Rajasthan, India has not only reduced environmental pollution but has had the knock on effect of boosting the local economy. The livelihoods of the Bari community in particular have been positively affected as people revert back to traditional, 100% natural and biodegradable leaf bowls which the Bari produce.
