Green Home is now offering a composting service for all Green Home biodegradable food packaging in CT and Jhb. If clients are unable to compost their own green waste, we will accept our products back to be composted. Waste has to be sorted before collection. More than 90 percent of the environmental impact from disposable plastic bottles happens before it is even opened, as this article states.

Composting of organic waste significantly reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfill, which consequently reduces pollution of soil and groundwater from leachate, and the production of the greenhouse gas methane (an aerated compost heap will not produce methane.)
