| New Pricing: Biodegradable Food Packaging just got cheaper |
|
The story behind the industry: Green Home started in my garage in 2007, and quickly took over my whole house. I became we, and we became the first biodegradable food packaging company in South Africa. Since then we have moved twice, always researching and developing products and educating the South African market about biodegradable food packaging. Today, biodegradable food packaging is a growing industry in South Africa. With the help of YOU, the local market, and your enthusiasm for a greener existence, we have been able to provide products at increasingly better prices. With education comes demand, and with demand comes industry, and with industry comes competitive pricing of biodegradable food packaging for South Africans.
We, Green Home, says thank you for caring and thank you for taking action.

| World Naked Bike Ride takes to the streets of Cape Town |
 |
The World Naked Bike Ride took place in Cape Town for the first time on March 12, with around 200 naked (or nearly naked) cyclists, cycling the 8 km route around Cape Town. Over 50 cities around the world took part in the annual event, which started in 2004 with the aim of protesting against oil dependency and body shame.
“The event was a peaceful, imaginative and fun protest against oil dependency and car culture. It was a celebration of the bicycle and also a celebration of the power and individuality of the human body,” explains Andrew Wheeldon of the Bicycling Empowerment Network.
So check out these awesome photos and bookmark this website for details about next year’s event.

| A Letter from Sendai Japan...With Love |
 |
This beautiful and inspiring letter, ‘A Letter from Sendai’, is written by Anne Thomas who lives in Sendai, Japan, which was hit by a 9.0 earthquake on 11th March 2011 and a subsequesnt major tsunami.
...During the day we help each other clean up the mess in our homes. People sit in their cars, looking at news on their navigation screens, or line up to get drinking water when a source is open. If someone has water running in their home, they put out a sign so people can come to fill up their jugs and buckets...
...No one has washed for several days. We feel grubby, but there are so much more important concerns than that for us now. I love this peeling away of non-essentials. Living fully on the level of instinct, of intuition, of caring, of what is needed for survival, not just of me, but of the entire group...
